I’m delighted to say that I’ve tasted wines from all these regions, visited vineyards in 5, and tasted wines in the region in a further 2

Next up – North Korea? (which I just learned about this week!)
Actually, it’ll be Japan (Hokkaido & Yamanashi), Canary Islands (Tenerife & Gran Canaria), then maybe Kosovo or Ireland (3 wineries)

Long live travelling and wine tasting off the beaten track!

In Morocco, we found wine at restaurants, riads, Carrefour, and a random store our guide knew about in the middle of nowhere. I totally forgot about wine in Turkey–thanks for the reminder!

South African wines are fabulous. We’re currently drinking a lot of Alsatian and Bordeaux wines, mostly because those are the places we’ve been most recently 🙂

I spent 5 weeks there and sure is hard to find alcohol…wonder where their wine is sold? Is it mostly for expore?
We’re in Turkey right now and we’ve been surprised to find pretty decent – and inexpensive – Turkish wine at the corner store. Off to Georgia next where they are supposed to have great wine. BTW – my favorite wines are South African.
